5 Awesome Ways to Use Coconut Cider Vinegar

A few months ago I introduced coconut cider vinegar to you all and had a great response, thank you!

Since moving to the mountains we’ve been enjoying our own veggie garden, and what makes it extra special is the sweet cider vinaigrette I drizzle all over the greens. I’m seriously hooked, so is my husband.

One of the down sides of living on acreage is the many biting bugs and allergens. My dog I have some skin sensitivities, and come spring we are itching! CCV can also be used to sooth skin rash and irritation.

I am in love with this product and using it all the time, so I thought you might like to enjoy some of these uses also.

It is by far the cheapest and most effective skin toner I have ever known.

I’ve listed a few of these simple recipes below,

I hope you will enjoy!

1. Sweet Cider Vinaigrette

Ingredients:
1/2 cup liquid coconut oil (or olive oil can be used)
1/2 cup coconut cider vinegar
1 tsp seeded mustard
1 tbs coconut nectar
Pink salt to taste

Blend or stir all ingredients until well combined. Drizzle over your favourite salad. You can add salt and sweetener to taste.

2. Salute To Your Health and Weight Loss

Coconut cider vinegar is calorie- and sugar-free, but that’s not the only reason it gives your slim-down efforts a boost. Like apple cider vinegar, coconut cider vinegar contains acetic acid which aids weight loss by boosting satiety and keeping blood-sugar levels even keeled. A shot taken half an hour before meals can help in many ways.

3. Itchy Skin

I’ve been keeping Sashas skin allergies under control with coconut oil and coconut vinegar since she was a pup. Just recently, after our move, they seemed to have flared up again. When she is scratching I prepare this tincture:

* 1 part coconut cider vinegar
* 1 part filtered water

I like to mix the ingredients into a spray bottle and apply to the affected areas. You can use it either as a spray or as a rinse. Do not apply to open wounds as this may sting.

A tablespoon in your dogs water can also help with health and itchy skin, especially if yeast is the main concern.

4. Face cleansing and toning for scars and acne

Coconut cider vinegar is so great for healing acne because it returns the acidity to your skin and restores that acid mantle. It also kills bacteria, removes excess dirt, oil and makeup and dissolves dead skin cells.

Another way coconut cider vinegar can help is by lightening scars, because it can wash away the dead skin cells. Over time, this can aid in fading away of any facial scars.

How To Use:

  1. Mix coconut cider vinegar with filtered water. You can add a few drops of essential oil too. I like frankincense, lavender or tee tree.
  2. Apply to your skin using cotton ball.
  3. Leave it for few minutes, and then rinse it off with cool water.
  4. You can use daily as a face cleanser.

In addition to washing with a splash of coconut cider vinegar, dab a little on a cotton ball and apply directly to age spots. Wait about thirty minutes and rinse your face with water and pat dry. Do this twice daily for a few weeks.

5. Toxin Free Cleaner at Home

Like all vinegar, coconut cider vinegar has potent antimicrobial properties, making it an excellent way to clean your home. And unlike most cleaning products CCV contains no harmful ingredients.

Studies have shown that vinegar can disinifect and it’s safer for your family and the earth.

You can dilute coconut vinegar in with water (1:1 ratio) and it can be mixed with other natural cleaning products like lemon juice, salt, alcohol or essential oils.

Use to clean surface tops and floors, to unclog drains, add to a wash load to sanitise clothes, de-mildew your bath tub, it can even remove ink stains and candle wax stains from certain surfaces.
